ART DEPARTMENT SPECS & GUIDELINES

Please Note: Flat panels that are to be installed in a frame need to have the graphics adjusted to allow for a 3/4” overlap of the frame on to the panel face.

 

Please Also Note: Flanged panels curve slightly at the edges, so please adjust the graphics to allow for a 3/16” margin on the inside of the panel face.

 

We can accept files created with the following applications:

  • Adobe InDesign CC and earlier
  • Adobe Illustrator CC and earlier
  • Photoshop CC and earlier (see below for information about Photoshop files)
  • Please contact us if you have used a program other than the ones listed above

Placed/Linked graphics in Illustrator and InDesign:

  • Make sure all imported graphics are properly linked and updated
  • Provide all linked files with your artwork submission
  • Do not embed graphics in your Illustrator or InDesign documents

Photoshop files (leave in a layered format if possible):

  • Color Images must be saved as CMYK (not RGB)
  • Format can be EPS, TIFF, PSD, or PSB if file is very large
  • Grayscale images should be saved as TIFF (uncompressed)
  • Bitmap images (Black & White) should be saved as TIFF (uncompressed)
  • Duotones, Tritones and Quadtones should be saved as Photoshop EPS, or PSD
  • We cannot accept images saved as GIF or JPEG. These formats are not designed for print production

Fonts (Outlined fonts are preferred):

  • Include all of the fonts that you have used in your project
  • Avoid using TrueType fonts

Extra charges may apply for the following:

  • Images saved as RGB
  • TIFF files saved with LZW compression
  • Fonts supplied in TrueType format
  • File formats supplied in AutoCAD format (DXF, DWG)
  • Scaling or any graphic changes

Artwork Sizing: 
All artwork should be designed at full size (100%) with the only exception being vector files, these files can be scaled to any size. We typically image at 133 to 150 line-screen (lpi) and require that your image resolutions be twice that amount (e.g. 266 to 300 dpi). Line-art (bitmap images) should have a resolution of at least 600 dpi.

We can accept the following media:

  • CD • DVD • email attachment (< 10 MB or smaller) • thumb drive • hard drive
  • We can also accept compressed files .SIT and .ZIP
